 Agility relates to the ability to solve our task as set in exercise 17 “Square” using the “female” approach. We perform softness, tenderness, gentleness, mildness, tact, care, flexibility. We try to be diplomatic, agile, in the language of gesture we look from all perspectives, turn in all directions, arms and hands make undulating movements, fold and touch. Some examples of the soft and flexible approach:

  • water, magnetism  in nature;
  • using mild, kind words;
  • in relationships showing mildness, tactfulness;
  • approaching an issue by getting around before you reach to the point.
Exercises 17-21 are related thematically as a group. In 17.Square we have a problem situation, a task. With 18.Beauty and 19.Agility we work to solve it using the hard and the mild approach. In 20.Conquering we solve and overcome it.  With 21.The Joy of the Earth we perform the joy for the achieved.

This exercise is a continuation to the previous one – soft, curved lines are at work. The feminine principle that processes the square is at work here. 1. Text: What are the imahes of agility in the text? Write in your own beautiful words a sentence/ essay/ poem about softness, mildness, flexibility.

2. Drawing: Draw an illustration how you/an animal/a plant overcomes an obstacle on the way (a high wall, water etc.) by going around it. Draw and illustration of the exercise.

3. Questions: How would you describe the traditional “female” approach? What are the “female” and "male" qualities in everyone? What can water achieve with its softness and flexibility?

4. Experience: Tell us of situations and experiences when you have solved a situation by being mild and flexible. What is the feeling?

5. Imagination: Imagine while you play the exercise that you are like a butterfly that can fly over all obstacles on the way.

6. Affirmations: Write your own positive affirmation for Agility. For example: I can be mild and flexible.

7. Quotes: Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it (Lao Tzu). Find your own favourite quote for Agility.

The partners face the centre of the circle, one behind the other.
Arms: The left arm is stretched to the left side horizontally. The right arm is in front of the chest, folded in the elbow and close to the body, its forearm parallel to the left arm. Palms are down, fingers together, wrists stretched.
Legs: Feet together in standing position. The toes point towards the centre of the circle.
Turning to the right to a position forwards in respect the movement in the circle.
Arms: Both arms outline descending semicircles down and to the right side while simultaneously the body turns to the right. The arms move parallel, stretched, with palms down, and reach horizontal position forwards.
Legs: The right foot moves to the right, toes in the direction of the movement in the circle. It steps down and the weight of the body gradually transfers to it. In the process of weight transfer the heel of the left foot takes off and the foot rotates on toes to the right (forward). Toes never lift from the ground.
Duration: 1 measure (3 beats)
Movement forwards and beginning of turning to the right with one’s back to the centre.
Arms: In the first half of the movement the elbows fold, the hands move horizontally towards the chest and the middle fingers touch in front of it. In the second half of the movement the hands move down and to the sides in semicircles to a horizontal position to the sides, palms down. Simultaneously with extending the arms to the sides the body turns a little bit to the right.
Legs: In the first half of the movement the left foot moves to the front and steps. In the second half of the movement the weight of the body transfers to it while the right foot remains on toes to the back.
Duration: 1 measure (3 beats)
Turning to the right continues.
Arms: Arms make undulating movement imitating the flight of a bird. The wrists are being the most active: go up above and down below their horizontal position.
Legs: The right foot makes a step forward perpendicular to the forward movement in the circle, its toes pointing opposite to the centre of the circle. The body continues its turning to the right (outside), with one’s back to the centre.
Duration: 1 measure (3 beats)
Turning movement to the right comes to and end.
Arms: Arms make the same undulating movement imitating the flight of a bird.
Legs: The left foot makes a step to the sides of the right foot and parallel to it, toes pointing opposite to the centre of the circle. The weight of the body transfers to the left foot, the right is to the back. The toes of both feet point out. The turning to the right (outside) comes to an end; one is completely with one’s back to the centre. 
Duration:  1 measure (3 beats)
Movement with one’s back to the centre of the circle.
Arms: The right arm extends in a position horizontal to the right side. The left arm moves down and to the right, and folds in front of the chest, forearm parallel to the right arm.
Legs: The weight of the body transfers to the right foot, while the front left foot remains on toes.
Duration: 1 measure (3 beats)
Movements 1-5 repeat symmetrically (left-right) with turnning movement to the left, towards the centre of the circle.
Note: Movement 6 and all consecutive movements 1: There is no step forwards. Only the toes of the forward positioned foot turn to face the direction forward in respect to the movement in the circle. 



For Arms movement in 5 (and symmetrically: in 10 and SP)
The right arm folds horizontally in the elbow with palm down, in front of the chest. Simultaneously the left arm folds  downwards and to a position in front of the chest with palm up. The hands touch, palms one against the other, and slightly hold with the thumb of each on top of the other.
